Napoleon Hill wrote, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Training has taught me that my mind is my most powerful tool. May 2, 2016, I began my fitness journey; and all of my goals centred around negative thoughts. I still hadn’t lost all my baby weight and I hated how I looked and felt...I was really disappointed with the person I’d become. All my goals were centred around shedding that old, physical me; and I did well for the first month. I dropped pounds, I ate better and I got up every morning at 5 am before my kids would wake so that I could focus on improving myself. However, I still felt like I could improve. The moment I shifted my thinking, everything changed.
I decided to believe in me; and instead of seeing those extra pounds...I saw myself as a masterpiece in progress. I fell in love with “the process.” Self-love has been my biggest tool throughout my transformation. I love myself, so I consistently show up 6 days a week to practice self-love and thankfulness. I now rise between 4 and 4:30 am, because I crave those morning hours where I can focus on just myself; and that’s what works for me. I have lost about 25 pounds and while I’m just under my pre-kid weight, my physique is dramatically different. Every morning that I wake, before I even step into my gym and workout, I am practicing self love and thankfulness.
Every muscle/every flex is just an external reward and a reminder of that self-love. However, my mental strength is my strongest flex. Always watch your inner voice.
You are a badass, you are sexy, you are more than capable and you can definitely achieve your goals. Remember that nothing and no one can put you down; only you have the power to do that. Just believe and you will achieve!
