In 2015, I competed in my first Sprint Triathlon. While I had been an athlete my whole life, entering into the sport of triathlon was something new to me. When I made the decision to do so, I knew that I wanted to push myself to try and achieve a place on the podium. To assist with reaching this goal, I not only worked with a triathlon coach but also a strength and conditioning coach. Although both of these professionals were instrumental in my training and performance, the strength training really gave me the competitive advantage that I needed because it allowed me to gain the strength and explosive power I needed to ultimately race faster. I give my thanks to the professionals I worked with because their expertise allowed me to receive a bronze medal! Whether you are looking to compete recreationally or competitively, without a doubt I would recommend working with a strength and conditioning coach.
